Volunteer Appreciation Breakfast

Friday, April 25 at 8:15 a.m. in the Library

Casis is fortunate to have so many wonderful parents and community members who donate their time and talents to our school and students! Mr. Tinnon invites everyone who volunteered this year to a thank you coffee on Friday, April 25 at 8:15 in the library. Coffee and breakfast tacos provided by Stinson’s, gratitude provided by Casis. All you need to do is show up!  See the invitation here .

Honor an Outstanding Casis Volunteer!

Do you know a Casis parent or friend who has gone above and beyond to help out at school? Let us know who it is and what they have done so we can thank them at the Volunteer Appreciation Breakfast on Friday, April 25 at 8:15 a.m.! Just email Tina McCutchin at tmccutchin@gmail.com by Monday, April 21 with your suggestions.

Casis Organic Garden

The organic garden is open on Fridays!  The kids can come during lunch recess to weed, water, plant and hopefully soon harvest and taste some delicious veggies.  During this time (11-1pm) we are always looking for parent volunteers to help out. If you want to help but Fridays are tough to make, come Monday morning after drop off when we get it ready for Friday.  No experience or garden knowledge is necessary! It’s great for a good workout and lots of vitamin D. If you have any questions please contact Michelle Nguyen at  michellenguyen222@gmail.com.

Arrival & Dismissal, Visitor & Security Procedures

The main entrance to the school is open at 7:10 a.m. and supervision for students will be available at that time in the cafeteria. Please do not drop off your child before 7:10 a.m. at 7:20 a.m. the Hillview and Northwood entrances will be open, and at 7:35 a.m. the entrances to the Kindergarten and 1st grade hallways will be available. All other exterior doors will be open at 7:35 a.m. Click here for specific information on our Arrival & Dismissal procedures, and here for our Traffic & Safety Guidelines. We appreciate everyone’s efforts to get your child to school on time every day!

The safety of our students is our top priority. With the new school year, there are also new visitor and security policies. All doors will remain locked throughout the school day. Visitors and volunteers should sign in and obtain a photo ID badge before proceeding into the building. School Security Update — New Check-in Procedure for 2013-2014 School Year

Casis will have a new check-in procedure for the 2013-14 school year. Beginning in August, all doors will remain locked during the school day. All visitors will be required to buzz in at the front door. A newly installed system will allow office staff to see who is at the door and make verbal contact before allowing the visitor to enter the school. Once in the building, all visitors will go to the office and sign in for an ID badge. Adjusting to this new system will take time and patience from the Casis community, but it is for the safety and security of our children and staff.
